Don Bosco Celebrate 200 Years of Education

Students from the Don Bosco group of schools and colleges here in Papua New Guinea joined the world of Bosconians to celebrate 200 years of education achievement around the world.

It was a celebration of the life of founder and philosopher of education, Saint Don Bosco.

In Port Moresby, the week-long celebration ended yesterday, concluding with the celebration of the holy eucharist in an event organised by the Don Bosco alumni network here in Papua New Guinea. 

Current and former students expressed their appreciation and gratitude for their educations, which one former student, Martin Sieland, telling EMTV that it was an opportunity for many students to be a part of an institution that teaches both moral and ethical principles, going beyond the standard education that others receive around the country. 

According to catholic priest Father Peter Baquero, since Don Bosco’s establishment in the country, they now have three secondary schools along with a college and a technical college throughout PNG.
