Justin Yoka will become Hunter No. 73 when he makes his debut in this Sunday’s Rnd 3 Intrust Super Cup clash against Sunshine Coast Falcons at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby. Yoka was spotted by Coach Michael Marum while playing for the Highlands Confederate during the National Championships last September in Port Moresby and is in the starting line up at five eight.
Wawa Paul makes a return to the wing. Bland Abavu moves to fullback with Joe Joshua starting in the centres. Charlie Simon starts at hooker, Junior Rop moves to the second row with Stanton Albert to start at lock. Daniel Tapol, Butler Morris, Joe Frank, and Kevin Appo have been named on the extended bench.

Coach Michael Marum will name the final 17 an hour before kick-off at 3 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019. The curtain raiser at 12.15pm is a Digicel Cup ‘pre-season’ trial between NCDC Pom Vipers and Kroton Hela Wigmen. The Gates at the National Football Stadium will open 11 am1am on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Coach Marum has thanked Assistant Coach Nigel Hukula for his contributions and service to the team for the past three and a bit seasons and wished him well for the future.
“Nigel has left us to pursue his other interests and we thank him for his service and support and wish him well in his future endeavours,” Marum said.
The position of Assistant Coach of SP Hunters will be advertised during the week.
