by Marie Kauna – EMTV Online, Port Moresby

A Nepalese man, reported to be the world’s shortest male, has died at age 75. Chandra Bahadur Dangi, was crowned with the title in 2012, measuring in at just 21.5 inches tall.

Dangi was born in 1939, in Nepal’s western district of Dang. According to Dangi’s manager, Thaneshwar Guragain, he was in American Samoa for a short visit and died while undergoing treatment for pneumonia.

After falling sick, he was admitted at Lyndon B Johnson Tropical Medical Centre in Pago Pago where he unfortunately passed away.

The hospital is now preparing to issue his death certificate before handing over Dangi’s body to his family.

Dangi was not only the word’s shortest man, but also held the record of the world’s shortest adult ever measured.
