Wisil Records Best In 100m Semifinal

PNG’s sprint queen Toea Wisil recorded a season’s best of eleven point four, seconds in the 100 meters semfinal heat this morning, PNG Time.

The Australian based Wisil was a thriller right from the starting line, representing PNG at the commonwealth level.

 

Her ambition is to win a medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games as she continued blitzing home a stunning performance watched by billions around the world.

 

She was calm, cool and collected while embracing the moment as she carried the 7 plus million Papua New Guineans on her shoulder to the track in her first 100 metre race.

 

Wisil Trains at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) High Performance Centre in Gold Coast, Australia.

 

She made the final cut to the Semis with Northern Ireland’s Amy Foster and Australia’s Melissa Breen.

 

Wisil proved her worth among the best competitors. This time, she beat Melissa Breen in the semifinal.  

 

The 2014 PNG Games Ambassador pocketed the season’s best timing and making a history to be the first female athlete from Papua new Guinea to qualify for the final.

 

She will be looking forward for her 200 metre sprint, 4 * 100 m and 4* 400 m Relays.
