PNG sprint sensation, Toea Wisil, was in the country for a brief visit. In an interview with EMTV, Wisil spoke of her top performance in the recent Oceania Athletics Championships.
Wisil was adament that she had no rivals in the Pacific region. She is currently the Pacific’s number one female sprinter in the 100 and 200 metre sprints. Wisil said her preparations for the games have been going very well.
Toea has her eyes set on the Pacific Games with her goal to reel in as much medals as she can, particularly in the 100, 200 and the 4×100 metre relay events.
While the loss of her father has been hard on her, she however manages to overcome the odds.
Toea has become one of the most recognisable athletes in the Pacific, through sheer determination, hard work and dedication. She departed back to Australia to continue her training.
