The Welter Weight Title Fight betewwn Rickson Yamo and Jarko Jusila has been put on hold by the PNG kickboxing Association.
President of PNG Kickboxing Association, Stanley Nandex, has come out to clarify that the title fight promoted by Powerhouse Promotions has not been sanctioned due to Powerhouse Promotions not following protocol and meeting protocol to staging such an event.
Medical supervision on-sight was one of the concerns that Nandex brought up. Due to the lack of expertise and proper organization of an event 2 years ago, a kickboxer was punched to death whilst in a fight.
The PNG Kickboxing Association Executives are disappointed that Powerhouse Promotion has overlooked the governing constitution of PNG Kickboxing and have gotten the approval from the Oceania Kickboxing Federation to promote the title fight.
For the sake of the development of the code and the partners who have come on board to support the title fight, Nandex and the PNG kickboxing executives are calling on Powerhouse Promotions to put their differences and politics aside for an open dialogue to see the event through.
PNG Kickboxing Association appeals to the Kickboxing fraternity, enthusiasts and promoters to consult the executives to meet the necessary requireMen’s before promoting and staging fights to view proper administrative and medical support is in place prior to the staging of any event.
