Treid Pacific establishes a new system for TFF Commodity Component

By Julie Badui Owa – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The Tuition Fee Free Policy was introduced in 2012 by Government of Papua New Guinea, divided into two components:

  • the cash component being the subsidies, and
  • the commodity component currently trialed by Treid Pacific, through the delivery and  distribution of school  kits, for elementary to grade 12 students in PNG.

The contract for the commodity component was signed in 2013 between Treid Pacific and the National Department of Education, as a trial program, to ensure accountability of Tuition Fee Free Education and physical provision of essential basic resources to all beneficiary students in PNG.

Recently, Treid Pacific established a new system of Joint Monitoring and Training of Personnel in its implementing process.

Treid has trialed the supply of this classroom Reissue Card, to be filled in by every teacher and returned back for compilation, to ensure the Government receives documentary proof of every student receiving their due entitlements.
