Treasurer, Patrick Pruaitch sat on the Government’s side after saying the economy has “fallen off the cliff” under PNC leadership.
The wars of words are happening in media but yesterday was all about the Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare leaving politics.
But, this session was also a time when the public could see the coalition’s strength.
Before the session, sacked Petroleum Minister, William Duma was talking to the Prime Minister then minutes later, the Treasurer, Patrick Pruaitch slipped into the chambers while the attention was on the Grand Chief.
Last week, Pruaitch said the economy is failing. Today, he sat one seat away from the Prime Minister.
But the war of words in the media continues, this morning, Treasurer Pruaitch released a statement.
In it, he accuses the Finance Minister of contributing to the downfall of the economy.
Pruaitch says Marape insisted on borrowing despite being advised that the economic growth would plunge below 3 percent.
But today, in the chamber, nothing was said on this, a collective effort for a truce, in the name of recognition, for one of our country’s finest.
