The Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) has jumped on board as the minor sponsors for the IBS School debate for the second consecutive year.
Today, TPA presented a cheque of K35,000 to IBS Debate Coordinator, Rose Gerari.
TPA Director Policy and Planning Alcinda Trawen say, TPA is proud to be supporting this initiative.
“We see this as an important aspect of learning for the students; also it creates awareness of tourism in the country.”
Gerari commended the TPA for its continued support.
As minor sponsors, the TPA will be providing topics on tourism to IBS to use in the debate competition.
Last year was proven to be a success and IBS is hoping for the same again this year.
The debate competition is open to all high schools and secondary schools around the country.
The National Debate Competition will see selected students represent PNG in the Melanesian School Debate Competition, also this year.
