Team Jiwaka For Medals Come 6th PNG Games

Team Jiwaka will descend to Lae in numbers with possible prospects to showcase talented athletes and aiming for medals at the 6th BSP PNG Games.

The rugby league mad province with the support from the provincial government will go an extra mile to map the province in sports.     

 

The Jiwaka province, home of the International athlete Toea Wisil, is back into business with strong possibility, to make a solid team for the 6th BSP PNG Games set for November.

 

Wisil, the current Pacific Games women’s 100 meters champion, is a  product of the PNG Games.

 

She is the ambassador of the Games along with Scott Prince. who share a similar background one that based on struggles and hurdles. but has paved their way up to where they are now. 

 

Wisil is a fine example to Team Jiwaka. and will play a pivotal role for them to excel and perform beyond the boundary.

 

According to Governor. Dr William Tongamp, the provincial government supports the team and would like to see it prosper. with positive results at the Games.

 

Lae is accessible to many coastal and highland provinces, and Games will fall at a time of the school holiday, where students are likely to join their teams.

 

Approximately 114 days to go, and already the BSP PNG Games host Organizing Committee, chaired by Philip Franklin, has started the preparation work on venues which will play host to more than 9000 athletes from 22 provinces, participating in twenty eight different sports.
