The TeachersService Commission has taken a leap in salary processing for teachers withthe introduction ofthe new Alesco Human Resource Payroll System.
The system basically improvers onthe current procedures. This comes inthe aftermath of over six thousand automatic suspensions of teachers.
The new system has been introduced in six provinces.
The department has followed Acting Secretary Luke Taita’s direction of ‘one pay, one person, one position’ eliminating names of teachers which are onthe payroll yet not physically performing duties.
This new payroll system replacesthe old process of teachers aroundthe nation submitting to Waigani. It takes payroll related services closer to wherethe teachers are and allowthem to remain attheir respective schools enhancing quality education.
The system is expected to be in all provinces by 2015.
With over halfthe academic year to go it is requested that all teachers currently suspended submittheir Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets allowingthe department to reachthe right figure, deleting ghost names and to allowthem to focus on important issues at hand, “TEACH”.
