Australia-based, Papua New Guinean power lifter, Tahina Booth, officially signed with the PNG Powerlifting Federation on March 12.
She will now represent Papua New Guinea on the international stage; in all powerlifting meets, that she competes in. Booth is currently the strongest gold medal prospect for Papua New Guinea in the 84 kg weight class.
Tahina was scheduled to participate at the Pacific Invitational meet in Melbourne during April, however due to certain changes, she will not be competing. She will instead, be a guest lifter at the Australian Championships come April 12.
Booth’s preparation is going well, so far, and she is hoping to break all the Australian and PNG records in training, over the next few weeks.
Booth represented Australia during the Pacific International Tournament last year and set the new Australian deadlift record of lifting 200kg in the same weight division.
