Any type of athletic training takes discipline and determination. Swimmers atthe Beroko Swimming Club who attend training sessions from 5:30 am to 7 am inthe morning, andthen inthe afternoons from 4 pm to 5:30 pm, are no exception.
Althoughthe 2015 Aquatic Centre at Taurama inthe National Capital District is still under construction, this has not stopped eager members ofthe swimming club to quit training practice. Thanks to Ela MurrayInternational School,the youths are able to continue
Recentlythe hard work has paid off for two up-coming swimming stars. Fourteen year old, Ashton Kunda, and fifteen year old, Sheldon Plummer, have been invited to compete inthe winter sports in PyenongChang, Gangwon Province, Korea fromthe 13th tothe 25 of January 2014.
It is a truly unique opportunity offered tPNG bythe hosts ofthe PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea.
The Program is specifically intended to promote world peace and to encouragethe exchange of cultures and friendhip among youths from all overthe world.
PNG is one of only 40 countries worldwide who have been selected for the Dream program, andthe only country fromthe Oceania region.
