Capital Rugby Union: Round Two

In Capital Rugby,

This weekend is round two of competition and some teams are already showing superiority over others.

EMTV Sports caught up with the men’s match between Brothers and Defence.

Defence and Brothers met this afternoon at Bava Park.

Early on, the Brothers showed dominance with attacks that eventually broke down Defence, with a try secured in the first ten minutes.

An unsuccessful conversion left the score on five, while Defence had nothing on the scoreboard.

In response, Defence pulled a sleek try that levelled the scoreline at 5 flat.

Unfortunately, that try went unconverted as well.

However, the Brothers were not about to let their opponents win, just before the full time buzzer went, they scored again, this time successfully converted.

And the scoreline at half time was at 12 points to 5, in favor of Brothers.

Defence lived up to their name in the second half and held off most tries, but the Brothers kept on attacking.

In the dying minutes of the match, a scrum just outside the Defence try line result in a try for the Brothers again.

This time, sealing the deal at 17 points to 5 after the successful conversion.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s match earlier, 2016 Champions defeated the Harlequins with a massive 32 points to 17.

This continuation of good form follows right after round one’s jaw dropping thrashing of the Central Highlanders with 67 points to nil.
