The Supreme Court review case against Nick Kuman, Member for Gumine by former Member, Lucas Dekena is officially over.

The Supreme Court decision was made by Justice Higgins last Monday.

Justice Higgins dismissed a Slip Rule application filed by Mr Dekena for the review of the National Court decision of the recount of ballot boxes that resulted in the win of Mr Kuman after the 2012 Elections.

Dekena’s subsequent application seeking time extension to file the slip rule was dismissed, officially ending the 3 year court case.

“Firstly I would like to thank God, my family, supporters and the people of Gumine for their support. I am pleased to announce that leadership is now restored to my people in Gumine,” Kuma said in a media conference on Monday.
