Supa V Supporting Local Businesses

A third ‘Supa V Stoa’ belonging to Puana Aiga was opened yesterday at Vabukori village, one ofthe Motu Koitabu villages in Central Province.

 

The Supa V Stoa concept supportsthe SME Sector in terms of supporting local businesses, and a way of empowering people.

NCD Governor Powes Parkop was on site to officially openthe store.

 

As much oftheir land was given up to build Port Moresby City, resources have become scarce for many ofthe villagers.

 

Governor Parkop, togther with SVS and partners, has come up withthe initiative to help and sustain local businesses and aspiring ones. The Supa V concept aims to do just that.

 

Puana Aiga was privileged to open her trade store equipped with basic store items for the village setting.

 

The Supa V Stoa is backed by partners BeP Digicel and ther businesses houses that have collaborated to bring services closer to people and reducethe price of goods atthe village level while doing business.

 

Governor Parkop’said 17 Supa V Stoas have been allocated for Motu Koitabuans and so far three have been awarded.

 

The Supa V Stoa project is a three-year lease contract whereby interested people can purchasethe kit for K60, 000.

 

The trade store is fully equipped with basic store goods suitable for the village. Shop owners can also verify goods according to customer demands.

 

SVS Limited will transportthe kit –stores ether by air or sea tothe various locations. It will also conduct a two – week familiarization training on operations.
