The Sunrise Bethel Christian School in Waigani will be taking in its first ever grade seven class next year.
This was announced by the school principle, Roger Tumes, during the official opening of their new classrooms today.
The new classrooms will be used by grades four to six students.
The school was birthed in 2010 with just ninety students, and now has a student population of over a hundred and a staff ceiling of twenty seven.
Today marks an important event for the school as it is the first time the school has built a classroom with money allocated from the students’ fees and financial support from her sister school in Adelaide.
Since the school was established, the students have been having classes in the church’s Sunday school room.
The classroom opening was celebrated by students through traditional sing sing and choir.
Parents were given the chance to tour the classrooms after the ribbon was cut.
