Students Graduate from Rumiginae CHW

The North Fly District administration has announced several health projects that will be carrlied out in Rumginae, Western Province; one of which isthe Rumginae Hospital which will receive major renovations.

 

District Administrator, Dume Wo’o made that known at a graduation of Health Workers.

Mr Wo’o announced thatthe provincial government will implementthese projects inthe next three years underthe district administration’s impact project.

“I will providethe lLeadersip butorequire collective and cohesive approach in decision making, strenthening government’system and processes. Recruiting qualiflied, gifted and committed change agents who are able to transform our district.”  Dume Wo’o in his speech addressingthe attendees.

 

Rumginae CHW Training school will also be renovated. The institution has been operating for the last 34 years, starting as an aid-post orderly trainee school. It has graduated more than 100 community health workers since it adoptedthe curriculum in 2006.

 

This year, 14 students’graduated with certificates in community health.

 

National Health Secretary ofthe ECPNG Health Services Suli Gayani was also thankful tothe provincial government for assistingthe school with 260 thousand kina worth of teaching aid.

 

 

He said choosing such a vocation;they have to be prepared for challenges that come with working in harsh rural conditions.

Ofthe fourteen graduates, ten have been posted tothe Southern Highlands and Jiwaka provinces.
