PORT MORESBY, July 5 – New Caledonia will be looking for another clean sweep of the squash titles at the Port Moresby 2015 Pacific Games after winning all seven gold medals on home soil four years ago at Noumea 2011.

A top favourite at Port Moresby, Laurent Guepy (NCL), is defending champion in the men’s singles and men’s doubles events and a silver medallist in the mixed doubles.

His participation in the Pacific Games goes back to 2003, when squash came back into the fold after a hiatus of two Games.

His toughest competition in singles should come from Justin Ho (FIJ), who won silver in Noumea.

On the women’s side of the draw, New Caledonia won six of the seven medals four years ago so will be tough to beat.

Returning to defend titles are Christine Deneufbourg (NCL) in the singles and Sylvaine Durand (NCL) in the doubles events.

Durand also won the mixed doubles title with Fabian Dinh (NCL), who will also be competing at Port Moresby 2015.

There will be men’s and women’s singles, doubles and team events as well as a mixed doubles competition.

Squash will take place over 11 days at the Port Moresby Racquets Club from Monday July 6 until Friday July 17, with a day off from competition on Sunday July 12.
