The Southern Nines Rugby League saw top 32 teams play in their preliminary rounds today, with each team to play two games each.
Top 16 teams went on to play in the cup and plate divisions in the semi-final rounds, with the winner of the match proceeding into the cup final.
The second 16 teams played in the semi-final round for the bowl and pennant divisions. The winner will secure a spot in the Bowl division, while losers from the two top 16 teams, to play in the Plate and Pennant division.
Tournament Director, Ivan Ravi, said the competition has attracted teams from around the region-with new teams registering to play.
He says having to host the competition in a world class facility is a big bonus to the tournament, in lifting the standard of the game.
