Controlled steps are being taken bythe Department of National Planning and Monitoring to see that services reach right down tothe rural areas.
This will be through a five year development Plan for Districts and Provinces to be headed by MP’s
Many have yet to give intheir plans but female politician and Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore was amongthe first.
She follows Minister for Planning and Monitoring, Charles Abel who submitted his two weeks ago.
A brief meeting betweenthe Secretary andthe Member atthe National Planning Beard Room took place to hand overthe Sohe District five year plan.
Secretary Kora applaudedthe MP, addingthe plan will assistthe department of National Planning to identifythe needs ofthe district.
He said when each district submits a plan; it will cut down onthe hundreds of submissionsthey receive annually from private service providers.
The plan will also be shared with line government agencies and development partners to fund and implement it.
A determined Gore, despite being a first timer in Parliament is serious to bring services down to her people.
The annual K10 million DSIP funds will be released based onthe five year planning.
July isthe deadline for all Members of parliament to submittheir five year plans.
The plans will also be uploaded on tothe department’s soon to be upgraded website for public viewing and for accountability purposes.
