Although many woman are starting to come upthe ranks in contemporarPNG Societythere is still more work to be done in terms of gender equality.
To mark international womens day last Friday a special ceremony was held atthe’Strongim Pipol’Strongim Nesen office in Port Moresby.
Thetheme was “Manmeri wok bung wantaim long strongim meri na strongim nesen” (Men and women working togther to strenthen women and nation).
SPSN Program Director Jeremy Syme said working in partnership was extremely important in achieving outcomes that promote equal opportunities.
The individuals were featured inthemed posters produced by SPSN. They were chosen from organizations and community groups SPSN works with.
SPSN provides grants and capacity building to organisations promoting gender equality and improving access to health, education and disability services.
