The Hubert Murray Stadium at Konedobu will not host the Pacific Games Closing Ceremony, and rugby 9’s.
Rather, the Sir John Guise Stadium will be hosting the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pacific Games, and the rugby 9’s matches.
There is speculation that the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium will not be completed by next month, in time for the games.
This weekend, the Sir John Guise stadium will be trialled during the Hunters game, followed by other sports like hockey and beach volleyball.
Minister Tkatchenko said the venues were to be handed over on the 1st of June. However, the date was moved due to further finishing touches to be completed in and around the venues, like the car park at the Taurama Aquatic Centre.
PNG Power is committed to providing unlimited power supply to venues during the Games.
