Senior Government Officials visited three stations alongthe sothern part ofthPNGIndonesia border inthe Western Province.
This isthe first time for these senior officials to go on site and gther views ofthe people living alongthPNGIndonesian border.
They were headed bythe Director-General for the Office of Security and Coordination Agency, Ian Jinga.
They visitedthe three stations Torassi, Weam and Bela and collected data onthe declining state of basic infrastructure like schools, health centres and roads.
The National Government’s intervention is to assess issues affecting government’stations how people live alongthe sothern part ofthe border and report back tothe Chief Secretary.
Mr Jinga saidthe chief secretary willthen present this report tothe National Executive Council for deliberation.
They are expected to futher visitthe nothern part ofthe border and carry out similar evaluations and assessments.
This includes visitingthe Wutung Berder Post in Vanimo, West Sepik Province.
The delegation returned to Port Moresby yesterday and is expected to presenttheir report tothe Chief Secretary inthe coming days.
