Police Commissioner Gari Baki, yesterday, confirmed the dismissal of two senior officers from the force.
Thomas Eluh and Timothy Gitua have been in the forefront of the investigations into the Prime Minister’s Arrest Warrant Case.
Commissioner Baki has brushed aside allegations of corruption within the police force saying his actions are not politically motivated but based on internal police investigations.
Investigation Task Force Sweep Chairman, Sam Koim, has condemned the actions taken by the Police Commissioner.
“Although we do not question the Commissioner’s powers to take disciplinary actions, we believe that timing and circumstances under which the decisions are made is highly questionable “’said Koim.
He said this will frustrate pending court cases. He said this will definitely affect the current cases which they are working on, not only Paraka and Prime Minister’s case but other high profile cases of which verdicts are expected soon.
However, Commissioner Baki says his decision has nothing to do with the current investigations.
