After expressing dissatisfaction over deteriorating road conditions, residents atthe NAQIA Compound at Kila Kila have received some good news.
Thanks to NCD Governor Powes Parkop’s intervention, Contractor Shoncliffe deliveredthe ground base atthe compound overthe weekend.
The gesture comes afterthere was no response from local MP Justin Tkatchenko to fixthe road.
When EMTV visitedthe compound, Youths were busy unloadingthe quarry from a truck belonging to Shorncliffe.
The quarry will be used as a ground base for this section ofthe road that has been like that for the last ten to fifteen years.
Residents comprise families and relatives of staff from Agriculture DepartmentoNAQIA and NARI. They commended NCD Governor Powes Parkop for fixingtheir road.
Last month,the residents called on Moresby – South MP Justin Tkatchenko to fixtheir road but he said it wasthe responsibility ofthe Agriculture Department to fix it.
The youths mobilised and attempted to fixthe roadthemselves. Their selfless efforts wonthe heart of Governor Parkop. He collaborated with Shoncliffe to fixthe road.
