Runway to Runway : PNG Air takes PNG Fashion Week Nationwide

PNG Fashion Week Limited has announced PNG Air as its official airline partner in an agreement that will see PNG Fashion Week move from Port Moresby, firstly, into the Morobe Region with the Lae Fashion Week leg taking place in October 2018.

Going beyond traditional sponsorship, the deal was described as a milestone. Under the agreement, which is the first of its kind, PNG Air will become the official airline for all PNG Fashion Week events in 2018, starting in Lae in October.

It is reported that PNG Air will release the ‘PNG Fashion Week Travel Packages’ to consumers during Lae Fashion Week providing the best travel rates. Also, purchase of the PNG Fashion Week Travel Packages will also give consumers free entry into the PNG Fashion Week 2018 events.

Philma Kelegai, Managing Director of PNG Fashion Week said; “PNG Fashion Week and PNG Air represent an ideal brand fit, as we share attributes of being remarkable, ambitious and innovative. It is our goal at PNG Fashion Week to be a national platform, and PNG Air has allowed us to fulfill this. We are able to use this platform to reach out and empower all Papua New Guinean’s across the country”.

Lae Fashion Week which is scheduled for October 20, 2018, at the Royal Yacht club will feature fashion designers, artists and models from across the Momase and Highlands regions.

It is understood, the partnership will see top designers and models selected by PNG Fashion Week officials in Lae being flown to Port Moresby to participate in the spring season of PNG Fashion Week scheduled from the 22nd – 24th November 2018.
