Rugby League in Gaire Village

The village of Gaire in the Central Province, has over the years, shown keen interest in the sport of Rugby League.

With the local competition boasting 10 teams, including a woman’s division, the league is certainly growing.

The Gaire Rugby Football League has been one of the growing competitions in Gaire Village

The competition has a junior division for Under 19 and a senior open division.

The GRFL has also boasted a few players who have been selected to compete in the Southern Region Confederate Cup in Port Moresby next week.

That Southern confederate cup will be used as part of the selection process for players for the upcoming PMs XIII next month.

The competition is now moving toward the finals which will in a few weeks.

Organisers have said that the standard of the league has improved this season, and they are looking to move on to greater things in the coming season.
