“Gudnait olgeta Wantoks (Goodnight to you all, my countrymen)” was how International music artist, Ronan Keating, began his performance in Port Moresby, last night.
After six years of hearing about Papua New Guinea from his wife Storm, who has family roots in the Morobe and East New Britain provinces of PNG, the X-Factor Australia judge freely offered that the warmth and friendliness of everyone he met, since arriving in Port Moresby on Tuesday, was reason enough to fall in love with the country.
Currently on a world tour, Ronan and Storm had the opportunity to travel to where Storm’s family still lives, in the Wau district of Morobe.
In a performance that featured hits from his days with UK boy band, Boyzone, to his first foray into a solo career, and his first official soundtrack for a feature Hollywood movie in Notting Hill, to the track ‘Breathe’ from his newest album offering, ‘Time Of My Life’.
Keating was so impressed with Papua New Guinea, that he says, he will definitely be spreading the word about what a beautiful country PNG is, and he is already planning to return to the country some time soon.
