A landowner group in Gulf Province wants the government and relevant authorities to build a processing plant in the province for the Gulf LNG project.
The Pawaya Landowners felt they have been left out of development and having a processing plant in the province will change that.
While other parts of the country have seen major infrastructure development, the Gulf province remains one of the least developed in the country.
However the province is looking at having more developments with the Gulf LNG project.
For that to take place however the Pawaya Landowners are calling on the government to establish a processing plant in the province that will benefit the people, the province and the county.
The Pawaya tribe in the Gulf province will be the ones most affected by the project. Ward Counselor Ruben Yopi said his people have been left out on development and he wants that to change.
He urged the Governor for Gulf Havila Kavo to work with the Government in ensuring that issues of the people are addressed.
