Prime Minister Continues to Promote Health and Education

The Prime Minister continues to promote health and education, adding that is his government’s priority.

 

Peter O’Neill admitted that it is not an easy task to fix allthe loose ends overnight but said sheer determination and focus will bring Papua New Guineatothe finish line.

Mr. O’Neill when launchingthe Berneo Pharmaceutical building last week urgedthe private sector to continue playing a critical role in developingthe health sector.

 

The Berneo Pacific Pharmaceutical Group of Companies has been operating inthe country for over 17 years.

 

It is one ofthe country’s leading pharmaceutical and medical equipmentsuppliers, and employs over 300 Papua New Guineas.

 

Overthe weekend, it launched its warehouse in Port Moresby. Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was guest of honour.

 

Mr. O’Neill saidthe private sector continues to play a critical role in developingthe country.

 

He said his government encourages private public partnership, adding thatthe health sector is one that will need this kind of partnership to improver its current standards.

 

The company overthe years has been instrumental in partnering with government in funding special symposiums and operations such asthe annuaPNG medical symposium, Operation Open Heart,the Governor General’s HIV funds anPNG Kidney Foundation.

 

Its chairman announced that its new warehouse will now spare an office forthPNG Kidney Foundation.
