PNGRFL Appoints New CEO

Reatau Rau has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer for the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League.

Rau, from Vabukori village, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane and was the general manager of Turumu Investments for more than 32 years.

He has also been involved with Rugby League for many years and has been treasurer of the PNGRFL.

There were 25 applicants for the position, of which 17 were Expatriates, and 8 were Papua New Guineans.

Vanguard then submitted 5 candidates, 2 nationals and 3 expatriates to be interviewed and screened.

Rau says he was honored to be selected as the PNGRFL CEO, and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

PNG Hunters Chairman, Graham Osborne, says the board’s decision on appointing Reatau Rau as the CEO, was transparent and fair.

The New CEO is on a three-year contract and will start as soon as possible.
