SP Hunters Prepare to Take on Townsville Blackhawks

After securing a win over Norths Devils last weekend, the SP PNG Hunters remain fifth on the ladder with fourteen points under their belt.

The Hunters see minor changes to the starting line-up with the absence of Enock Maki and the addition of Atte Bina and Timothy Lomai.

There is much to prove on field this weekend when the Hunters take on competition leaders, Townsville Blackhawks.

The return of Thompson Tete in round 7 from injury, Adex Wera, Timothy Lomai and the versatile Lawrence Tu’u, boosted the Hunters morale, earning them a narrow win against the Mackay Cutters.

Coach Michael Marum’s, message was simple for their next task in the weeks ahead in increasing the work rate both in defence and attack.

In round 9, the Hunters buried Northern Prides unbeaten record in Kokopo with a 36-16 victory. And jumped ahead 2 spots to sit 5th on the ladder.

Marum recalls the services of Enock Maki in place of Timothy Lomai on the bench and secures another win over Norths Devils. In round 10, the Hunters secured another win over Norths Devils.

This weekend in round 11 of the Super Intrust Cup, the Hunters take on competition Leaders, Townsville Black Hawks.

Sitting at 5th spot on the ladder with 14 points, the Hunters see no major changes this weekend.

Marum retains majority of his the line-up from last weekend with minor changes.

This weekend With the exception of David Lapua, Atte Bina and Timothy Lomai who have been recalled. to the starting line-up.

Marum has also named Adam Korave, Bland Abavu, Ase Boas and Nickson Borana alongside, Roger Laka, Lawrence Tu’u and Willie Minoga.
