PNG prepares to stage biggest Trade Fair in Honiara

Preparations for the Solomon IslandsInvestment and Trade Mission are inthe final stages.

 

Minister Maru and Managing Director ofInvestment Promotion Authority Ivan Pomaleu discussedthe trade fair that will take place next week in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

The Ministersain PNG SME’s andthe private sector must targetthe investment opportunities inthe Solomon Islands.

 

“PNG will stage its biggest ever trade fair inthe Solomon Islands to promotPNG companies and for us to go and look for investment opportunities,” says Maru.

“We want to also bethe dominant investor inthe Solomon Islands.”
 

TheInvestment Promotion Authority is working withthPNG High Commission in Honiara andthe Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce &Industry in match makin PNG companies andthe Solomon Islands business interest.

 

The government backed its support towardsthe trade fair by contributing 250 thousand kina to subsidizethe cost of travelling and hostingthe Trade Fair.

 

Over 70 business delegates representing 53 companies from various industries will make upthe trade and investment delegation.

 

Minister Maru is also expected to pay a courtesy visit tothe Solomon Islands Prime Minister and his Solomon Islands counterpart minister as well.
