PNG Power held an exhibition overthe weekend to givethe public an insight into howthey operate.
The exhibition atthe Murray Barracks oval in Port Moresby ended a weeklong celebration to marktheir 50th anniversary.
Traditional dancers gracedthe occasion to entertainthe crowds.
An exhibition stall was also set up with various displays depictingthe operation oPNG overthe 50 years.
Those who attended expressed satisfaction aboutthe progress ofthe company but voiced concern aboutthe high cost of electricity inthe country.
They said withthe milestone achievemenPNG Power should do more to make electricity affordable tothe people.
Acting Chief Executive Officer oPNG Power John Tangit’sain PNG Power will establish alliances with private sector to deliver improverd and expanded electricity services throughout Papua New Guinea
Mr Tangit’said existing power facilities will be rehabilitated including substations, transmission and distribution lines to cater for the high demand.
PNG Power has aligned its economic development plans withthe Governments strategies and policies to achieve its operational objectives.
