PNG National Party has endorsed five intending candidates to contest for seats in East Sepik Province.
The candidates will contest for the Wewak, Ambunti Drekikir, Maprik, Angoram,Wosera Gawi and Yangoru Sausia seats.
Among the candidates are former MPs Tony Aimo and Gabriel Kapris.
PNG National Party will now be a new contender in the history of East Sepik Politics despite East Sepik politics is closely tied to National Alliance and current ruling party the People’s Congress Party.
The five PNG National Party candidates include two former Ministers Tony Aimo and Gabriel Kapris.
Others include Paul Malken who will contest Wosera Gawi, Christopher Jaminan Yangoru Saussia, Lazarus Kenny, Angoram and Stanley Samban for Wewak Open.
Founding father Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare said politics can have its toll but chosen leaders must move in one direction to develop the country and serve the people.
Wewak town came to a standstill as PNG National Party made their presence known.
