Following the recent release of four players, the PNG Hunters coaching staff is giving their remaining 32-man squad a two-week break from training over the festive season.
The extended team will have their final training run this Saturday before they return in early January, when the final 28-man squad is expected to be selected.
Assistant Coach, Nigel Hukula, said today that the team’s primary focus during their four-week training camp was fitness, as there is a much higher level projected in the Intrust Super Cup competition.
The final 28-man squad will train for a month before the Intrust Super Cup season kicks off in March.
