A teacher turned writer has launched fourteen books for school children.
Author Fegsley Risapi launchedthe books yesterday under his own publishing company Brandwin Publishing. His goal was to introduce more locally produced books that children could relate to.
Mr Risapi joined a rare group of Papua New Guineas when he launched his books.
This isthe largest number of books launched at one time. He previously had launched two.
He said writing was a dream he picked up again recently after abandoningthe interest years ago.
Present atthe launch were Minister for Religion Youth, and Community Development Loujaya Toni, and former Secretary ofthe Education Department Dr Musawe Sinebare. Various school teachers and students’were also present to withnessthe launching.
The fourteen books are written in English and also have a Pidgin English version.
The books are inspired by real life experiences that Mr Risapi believes will relate to students’
The Launching is in line withtheWorld Bank’s ReaPNG Program, now implemented bythe Education Department.
