Polling in Ialibu – Pangia electorate in Southern Highlands province began late last Saturday, however was underway immediately with locals casting their votes.
Distribution of ballot boxes and papers started at 8am on Saturday (23/06/12) morning. By 11:30am, delivery of the materials were carried out under heavy police escort to various polling locations.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill cast his vote at twenty past two this afternoon in his home village of Kauwo just outside Pangia station.
This was witnessed by hundreds of his supporters who sang and cried when he voted.
