Photographic Exhibition Showcases History of PNG-Australia Relationship

Australian High Commissioner to PNG, Deborah Stokes, on behalf of the Australian Government, launched a photographic exhibition in Port Moresby, recently.

The ceremony showcased World War Two pictures of the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels, and associated pictures to commemorate the event.

The exhibition was focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Papua New Guinea and Australia; and promoting economic and social development, through AUSAID.

The exhibition featured World War Two pictures, and also showcased, were pictures of gender based violence, education and health.

Officiating at the event included Ms Deborah Stokes, PNG’s Sports and National Events Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, Higher Education Research Science and Technology Minister, Malakai Tabar and other distinguished guests.

Stokes said that the event also signified the creation of the AUSAID program that continues to play a significant role in the economic development of this country.

“The AUSAID program is one of the pillars of the strong, diverse, and close relationship Australia has with PNG”.
