The PNG Pepes have continued their great form at the Nations Cup in Singapore, after they defeated Singapore Invitational 37-36.
In a tough encounter, the Pepes came out on top. It was the most challenging match the team has faced in the competition so far.
The Pepes began the match strongly, which set the momentum for the rest of the first quarter. The Pepes ended the first quarter ahead, 13-9.
But the Singapore Invitational came back strong in the second quarter, ending the first half just behind the Pepes by one goal 22-21.
The third quarter was neck-to-neck affair as both sides were desperate to take the lead. In a seesawing encounter, the third quarter ended with both teams scoring seven goals apiece.
It was the same as well for the final quarter as the Pepes held off the Singapore Invitational by one goal, winning 37-36.
