Pakistani Refugee Convicted for Sexually Assaulting a Minor

A 29-year-old Pakistani refugee on Manus has been convicted for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old.

The National Court in Lorengau heard that on the 2nd of March this year, three young girls were brought to a lodge in Lorengau town by the refugee, Muhammad Hussain, and one of his friends. The court found that Hussain sexually assaulted them before offering them money.

Manus Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector, David Yapu, has warned all refugees to refrain from committing such offense.
