Only three more days remain till the Pacific Games begin, and the creative team behind the opening ceremony have come out stating that this is the most ambitious of projects done in the country.
With over 3,000 participants and provincial groups brought in from across the country, the Makoda Production company plan to showcase Papua New Guinea culture to the world.
Sleepless nights have dominated the production crew, who’ve amassed a multi-national team, with co-creative directors, Nigel Jamieson and Irie Leke-Ingram.
Tania Nugent, the company’s Director and co-founder, spoke of the challenges of bringing together the nation, and how the ceremony itself, is the ideal platform to show PNG off to the world.
The opening ceremony is still kept a highly guarded secret, with Nugent, coy in her remarks when questioned on its likely showpieces, preferring to state that the ceremony will be a show, not easily forgotten.
