A special dinner was held last night to mark the completion of the construction phase and the commencement of the production and the export phase of the PNG LNG Project.
In his keynote address Prime Minister Peter O&rsquO’Neill said the completion of PNG LNG project marks a real “coming of age” for our country.
The successful completion and delivery of the project, well ahead of schedule, earned Papua New Guinea two important accolades.
The first being, showing the rest of the world that our country is capable of delivering a world class projects safely to foreign countries.
And the second being, the successful completion of the Project and the start of LNG exports has elevated Papua New Guinea to that exclusive club of LNG exporting countries.
The Prime Minister has also made a commitment that his government will manage the revenues in a most transparent, efficient and a sustainable manner.
