Elections in Popondetta Northern Province are still waiting for their outstanding payments.
They claimed they are being owed an excess of K30 000. The provincial electoral commission has been silent on the issue.
Two years after the National General Elections, these service providers and counting officials in Popondetta Northern Province, are still waiting for their outstanding payments.
For the counting officials, they claimed an outstanding of K20 000. On numerous occasions, they have being promised to be paid but to no avail.
Their last payment was in August 2012. They have appealed to Governor Gary Juffa, and the provincial administrator Owen Awaita, but have not received a favorable response.
They have written to the Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen also, but are still waiting for his response.
The group feels they have been treated unfairly, having sacrificed their time and energy working for an extra week, to ensure counting for the Oro Regional seat progressed smoothly.
They will be engaging a lawyer to pursue their matter in court if their grievances are not addressed.
Attempts to contact the provincial electoral office, and the Commissioner for comments, have been unsuccessful.
