All delegates from the Oceania Football Confederation were granted access to tour and visit the construction sites, and were not pleased at the rate of progress, but more so, the scale and enormity of the projects.

PNGFA president, David Chung also expressed his personal thoughts and concerns on the progress of the venues, in the lead up to the 2015 Pacific Games.

When questions were raised as to what David Chung’s plans forward were for the OFC, he said, he was disappointed with the progress of venues, as it would affect the PNGFA and other sporting federations, in their plans and proposals for the year ahead.

While he expressed his disappointment, members of the OFC executive committee, were impressed with what the venues would bring to Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific to an extent.

Minister for Sports, Justin Tkatchenko who joined the delegation later, said the significance in these games being held here in Papua New Guinea, would contribute to the development of sport in the country, and region.

Meanwhile, progress on the venues at present, is steady. With the Games Village, showing promising signs, games village supervisor, Adelbert Gangai told delegates that he is hopeful, that the handover will take place on the 31st of May, and by then, the facilities should be in useable condition.

Philip Johnson, site manager at the Bisini Parade, has given reassurance, that plans to develop the site into world class standard soccer and athletic facilities, are up to date.
