O’neill Visits Games Village

The home of the 2015 Pacific Games Athletes, welcomed the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his second visit.

On his first visit to the site, the area was nothing more than plain savannah grassland. Now in its place, it has changed into a facility ready to boom into classy and comfy abodes for athletes during the games.

An elated Prime Minister walked around the village, indulging in the progress of the work.

Workers on site were true to their words, making every minute worth it, as they make sure the clock is not ticking past the scheduled date without completion.

Mr. Tkatchenko assures China Railway Construction and Engineering is working around the clock to have the entire facility room-ready before July, 2015.

The Prime Minister visited Taurama Aquatic Centre, home to Volleyball, Basketball, Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Swimming.

Other sporting amenities in the indoor complex include a gymnasium, fitness Centre, and training facilities for Martial Art sports.

The main building contract was awarded to Fletcher Morobe Construction Company in July 2013, and construction commenced the following month in August 2013.

The target construction completion date is May, 2015.
