Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has assured churches in the country, his government will work closely with them.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Reverend Ken Thompson of PNG Bible Church in Port Moresby yesterday.
Mr O'Neill said churches have done a tremendous job in many remote areas of Papua New Guinea, where government services could not reach.
He applauded their commitment.
Reverend Thompson acknowledged the O'Neill/Dion Government for marking August 26th as a special day for prayer annually.
