NSL Confirm Venue

by Jeremy Mogi – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

The Telikom National Soccer League (NSL) competition manager, Simon Koima, has confirmed that the Correctional Institute Services ground at Bomana will be used to host the round three double header matches.

This comes amidst on-going negotiations between the NSL board and IPA board over usage of the grounds, which hosted the majority of Port Moresby-based matches during the last year’s season.

Koima, however, remains optimistic of the usage of the grounds despite the distance away from the city, saying NSL followers will still be able to support their local team considering the long wait for the season to begin and the quality of matches on show.

The NSL will see round three action with league leaders Hekari heading off to Lae City to face off with surprise co-leaders Besta, who defeated a disenfranchised Oro FC over the weekend.

Hekari, however, have begun the season in much the same way they have for the past decade – on a winning note – and are not about to let slip their lead.

In the capital, Admiralty will meet Oro, with both teams eager to get off the mark, and FC Port Moresby will go up against a Madang side, hoping for more than a draw.
