By Michelle Amba – EM TV, Port Moresby

One district in the Southern Highlands Province has partnered with churches, for development in the district.

The Nipa Kutubu District Development Authority is leading the way in establishing a partnership with 15 church groups in the district.

All representatives from the different churches met with the member for Nipa Kutubu, Jeffery Komal, to discuss a way forward.

When addressing the newly formed organisation, the Body of Christ, the local MP said development must come from all sectors including churches.

He said this spiritual unity calls for all churches to work together with the district authority in delivering education and health programs.

As part of this agreement, the district administration will put up a new community hall at the district station for all church activities, including Easter and Christmas festivals.

Nipa Kutubu District is one of the five districts of the SHP, with a population of about 98, 505, which is 30 per cent of the total provincial population.
